Anyone with a "less abled" body seems to be confronted with very bad reactions in cold wet climats. With connective tissue deseases its a well known factor.

Since in need of a wheelchair to get a bit of a social life I was confined to indoors life more than 80 % of the time spend in Belgium - even summer months give me only a 30 % chance to get outdoors because of the suimmers getting wetter every year.

After adapting my van to basic needs (sleep/hygiëne/food intake) I started fleeing from cold winters seeking the Sun in:

Portugal, warmer than Belgium but very cold nights because of the Atlantic Ocean coastal line

Souther Spain, warmer than Portugal but rather boring Mediterranean coastline

Lanzarote, great meeting old mates and finding new ones, but lots of wind, dust and sand makes it difficult to cope at times and the journey with the ferry from Cadiz to Arrecife is very expensive.

And, Kenya, Nairobi  with the airplane (Brussels-Nairobi 10 hour flight) , where the wheather is the best in the world (as far as I have experienced) - close to equator 1400 meter above sea level.
